Brief

The goal of this virtual event was to run three simultaneous streams of event presenters and audience members. Streams would be easily accessible from the KindFest event microsite, and participants could easily switch between them.

Summary

The KindFest virtual event included live and pre-recorded presentations. Just before the event started, the live presenters joined us for a technical check to ensure that they were well prepared and feeling confident. We also worked closely with the events team to bring together all of the pre-recorded presentations and we ensured the play-outs seamlessly integrated with the live event content.

For the audience and presenters, each of the three streams in the virtual event had its own interaction box and this allowed everyone to be able to engage with the content and other participants. For accessibility and engagement reach of the online audiences, the customised KindFest microsite was not password protected.

As we were streaming multiple HD streams, it requires really good bandwidth with a very stable connection. It’s fortunate that we have multiple permanent studios, all of which are connected via 1GB leased lines and have solid backup networks. As a result, we are able to deliver high bandwidth events confidently and can put your mind at ease!

The fast pace of an event like this also requires an experienced Live Stream Producer on each call. Our producers take full control of the technical elements allowing the live content to be delivered in a controlled and relaxed environment with maximum production quality.

With 3 streams running across a full day there is a considerable amount of content generated, so it was important to ensure there was a media management process in place. This meant that come event wrap-up, our team switched into content generation mode! Within 24 hours, all the 15 hours+ of content was backed-up, edited into sessions, uploaded to the platform for on-demand and delivered to the client for archive!

The Glo team just delivered our third virtual KindFest – a virtual event with a mixture of live and recorded content across three streams running concurrently over 6 hours – no mean feat! Once again, they produced and delivered our event in a seamless manner. Kyle, John and Craig were calm and so professional on the day, offering advice when needed and guiding our speakers and wider team brilliantly. They were also great throughout pre-production and quick with the post production content and analysis for us. I honestly can’t recommend them highly enough.
